What is a Dual Unmetered Account?
The Dual Unmetered Account does not allow two computers to dial up to
the Internet at the same time, you'd need two separate dialup accounts
to do that. It is for people that have "Shotgun" style modems to achieve a
faster connection to the Internet. This is pretty rare, and difficult to
setup, but basically it is a computer that has two modems tied together by
special software. The two modems connect via Multi-Link Point-to-Point Protocol
(MLPPP) with two separate phone lines and the software shares a single IP
address. These two separate channels are "bundled" together so that your
computer sees a single (up to) 112k connection to the Internet. Since this style
setup uses two separate phone calls, you have to pay your telephone company
for an additional phone line.
