Problems with AUXDRV or other Sound DRIVERS
[BACK]

You have loaded DOS drivers, but are still receiving an error when you enter a recording screen or PICKLIST or RANDOM playback modes.

1. Make sure dos drivers are loaded by typing MEM /C /P at a DOS prompt. You should have CTMMSYS and CTSB16 loaded.

IF this is the case, and an error message still appears: AUXDRV.DRV not present/ cannot be found, or a similar message. Also, you may simply be dumped out of recording or playback screens.

In these cases:

Something is wrong with the ability of the PC to find the drivers in the SB16 directory. In this case, copy all .DRV files to the AMATE directory, and the AMDATA directory if you want to be able to use RANDOM playback mode. If the .DRV files are not in that directory, you will see a red screen and be dumped back to the main menu when trying to run RANDOM PLAYBACK MODE.

Most of the time, the .DRV files are in the following directory: C:\SB16\DRV. If not, they may be directly in SB16, or SB16V for Vibra cards. To copy the files, go to the directory where the files exist, and then do the following:

COPY *.DRV C:\AMATE {Enter}
COPY *.DRV C:\AMDATA {Enter}

Now, try to record or playback. All should be fine.
