In Lyons there is a campground called John Neil Park next to the Santiam River. It is a popular place to go tubing down to the bridge area. There is a series of year-round beaver ponds with a relaxing walking path between them and through the woods where one can see an occasional beaver, ducks, rabbit, bullfrogs. In the top most big pond there are geese, ducks, and fishing for bass and bluegill.

Approximately 16 miles north there is Silverton Falls Park which is several waterfalls dropping into a spectacular canyon. There's picnicing, horse riding and walking trails.
