HISTORY
Al Knudson lived in various locations in Oregon,
Washington, and California (near steelhead rivers). While living in Gold Hill,
Oregon, Al fished the Rogue River year-round for steelhead during the Great
Depression for food and to sell for grocery money. Around 1931, he began
packaging his flies in small cellophane envelopes with a card that read "
All flies tied by myself".
Knudson was one of the founders of the Evergreen Fly Fishing Club in
Everett, Washington area in 1954. The club patch features a Knudson Spider
displayed on a green background.
