- Wing: A pair of golden pheasant breast feathers back to back. Married strands of scarlet, blue, orange, and yellow swan. Bustard, florican, golden pheasant tail, cinnamon and mottled gray turkey tail with a topping over all.
- Sides: Barred summer duck (wood Duck).
- Horns: Blue macaw.
- Cheeks: Blue chatterer.
- Head: Black.
HISTORY
The Childers is a mixed or married wing pattern designed by Colonel Childers in 1850. The childers was written about
by such writers as George M. Kelson, Sir Herbert Maxwell, John James Hardy, John Hale and Dr. Pryce-Tannatt. The Childers
was said to fish well and is a very beautiful fly to look upon.
