"Jail and Bail” Fund-Raiser Event 2010
Are you willing to go to “jail” to support a humanitarian cause?
Would you be willing to help “bail out” those who need you and support their cause and to receive a “fair trial”?
Habitat for Humanity/ SLAMMS is asking for your support for an upcoming event on Friday, December 2nd, 2010.
Habitat for Humanity is an area non-profit organization that works with local families who have a need for safe, adequate housing. Our projects are supported by individual donors, supporting businesses and grants.
Up to 10 local business and civic men and women in the Stayton/Mill City area will soon be taken to “jail” in their efforts to raise funds and awareness to build a new Habitat home in Mill City next year. The event will take place on Friday, December 7th, at the Santiam Deli at Santiam Golf Course on Golf Course Road between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. You may be contacted by one of these “prisoners” from this location for a donation or pledge to help them “post-bail.”
You see, SLAMMS stands for the local area of Sublimity, Lyons, Aumsville, Mehama, Mill City and Stayton. Since 2001, we have built six homes in this area, including one in Mill City with our 7th home now under construction located in Stayton.
Civic Leaders like Leighton Lederer, local Kiwanis President and employee of A&W (top photo), and Sandy Lyness (bottom photo) are two of the volunteers who are asking you to help them in giving Habitat either a donation or a pledge for the Mill City Habitat Home.
Names of the other “jail” civic and business leaders will be printed in the December 1st papers and announcements.
Send donations or pledges to: Habitat for Humanity/SLAMMS or call Doug Doornink, 503-394-2934 or 503-364-6642 (Salem Affiliate Office)
