SUBLIMITY – Clara
Frank, 94, died Monday. Her
parents were Fred and Clara (Brunner) Ziglinski who lived on a
farm near Lake Thelma, Alberta, Canada.
Her mother died during childbirth and she and her
brother, John (Johnny) Ziglinski resided in Canada until Clara
was 7 when they joined their father in the Jordan area near
Scio. Fred had a
grocery business called Fred’s Place.
Clara attended school in Jordan, which is now called
Lourde’s School. In
1931, she marred John Andrew Frank and they moved to Silver
Creek Falls where they were in the logging business and went on
to Mill City for a few years and finally resided in Sublimity on
a farm where they raised their three children, Dorothy (Dottie)
Hammer, Victor Frank and Lorraine Weible.
Clara was preceded in
death by her husband, John; her son, Victor and his wife
Virginia; and her brother, John (Johnny) Ziglinski.
Clara was a member of
St. Boniface Church, Altar Society, the Catholic Order of
Foresters, Catholic Daughters, and Marian Estates Auxiliary. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, square dancing, fishing,
playing cards, bingo and working on ceramics.
She always made goodies for community functions and
Clara is survived by
daughter, Dorothy (Dottie) Hammer of Salem; daughter and
son-in-law, Lorraine and Eddie Weible of Sublimity; 9
grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 2
great-great-grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren and 11
A rosary will be
recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, October 23 and Funeral Mass will
be at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 24 both at St. Boniface
Catholic Church in Sublimity.
Interment will be in St. Boniface Cemetery in Sublimity.
Viewing will be at North
Santiam Funeral Service from 3 to 9 p.m. on Thursday,
