Stayton – Helen, 86,
died Friday in Scio. She was born in Gervais and grew up in West
Salem. She was a
graduate of Salem High School (now North Salem) and attended
Seattle Pacific College where she met and married Roland
Millican on September 18th, 1940.
During their 68 years of marriage, they lived in Seattle,
Pratum and Albuquerque, NM before returning to Oregon upon
Roland’s retirement in 1976.
They moved from Madras to the Willamette Valley in 1993
to be near family.
loved and served her church in numerous ways throughout her life
most recently as a member of the Cascade View Free Methodist
Church in Sublimity. One of Helen’s greatest gifts was listening, and she was
revered and loved by friends of all ages.
She is survived by her husband: Roland, her Daughter
Sheryll Ralls and Son-In-Law David Ralls of Turner, Brothers:
Robert Gwynn of Salem, Keith Gwynn and his wife La Velle of
Salem, Wayne Gwynn and his wife Cecelia of Salem and James Gwynn
and his wife Coleen of Portland. Grandchildren: Michael and
Carmen Ralls of Canby and Rhonda and Stephen Seabolt of San
Diego. Great-grandchildren: Alicia and Elena Ralls of Canby and
Madeleine and Jacqueline Seabolt of San Diego.
