Salem - Catherine, 41, died Saturday in
Salem. She was born in Canoga Park, CA. Catherine moved to
Oregon in 1980 living in Lyons and Salem.
We celebrate the life of a
giving and inspired woman who spent her best years helping
God's most disadvantaged children. Her physical
presence will be grieved but her spirit is to be celebrated.
Catherine was an advocate for struggling women and kept them
close to her heart as an active member of FITS ministries.
Family and friends ask that any donations be made to this

97305 in her honor. Catherine was also involved
heavily in the homeless plight. She spent her days
running the ARCHES day center for homeless and her nights
making dinners, delivering blankets, and spending her last money
buying gloves and hats for those who were cold. Honor
her by loving those who she loved. She was a member of the
Lyons Methodist Church, Freedon in the Son, and Women's

Schafer of Lake Isabella,CA; Father and Step-Mother: Gilman
and Marie Schafer of Palmdale, CA. Daughters: Desiree Hall
of Lyons, and Rose (Matthew) Stavang of Scio; Son:
Daniel Hall of Salem. Brothers: Kim Schafer of Palmdale, CA.
and Scott (Sandy) Schafer of Ridgecrest, CA; Sisters:
Diane Martin of Keizer, Christine (Bryan) Shaffer of Stayton
and Janette (Brian) Rourke of Denver, CO. and 2
grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother:
Jeffery Martin and grandmother Eva Few.
Memorial Service will be Thursday,
January 1, 2009 at 1:00 PM at the Stayton United Methodist
Church. Interment in Lone Oak Cemetery, Stayton. Serving the
Santiam Funeral Service, Stayton.
