James H. Giacomini

May 4, 1944 – November 3, 2008


Turner – James, 64, died Monday in Salem. He was born in Fortuna, CA. He moved to Silverton in the 1970’s from California, living there until 1986 when he moved back to California. James moved to Salem in 2006 from California. He served in the US Marines during the Vietnam War and later in the National Guard. James worked as a Vet Tech for many years mostly with Mallorie’s Dairy. He enjoyed fishing, military history, and model airplanes. James married Carmen Dalgliesh in 1967. 

He is survived by his Mother and step-father: Lillian and Tony Mello of Eureka, CA; Daughters and sons-in-law: Necole & Randy Riesterer of Turner, Abigail & Jim Benjack of O’Fallon, Ill., Denise & Travis Orr of Stayton, Jennifer & Brian Clark of Stayton and Crystal & Scott Galvin of Aumsville; Brothers and sister-in-laws: Frank & Bev Giacomini of Eureka, CA, Ron & Karen Giacomini of McKinnleyville, CA, and Richard & Rhoda Giacomini of California. Sister: Marianne Mello of Eureka,CA. Sister and brother-in-law: Cathy & Clark Keeney of Eureka, CA. 10-Grandchildren. He is survived by his ex-wife Carmen Courtney of Stayton. 

Services will be held in California. The family would like to say a special thanks to Oak Hills Sanctuary and Willamette Valley Hospice. Serving the family, North Santiam Funeral Service, Stayton.
