Salem – Mae, 106,
died November 4 in Salem. She was born in Monroe, Washington,
moving to Chelan in 1913, moving to Carnation or Tolt, WA.
Living in Alaska and Seattle and Edmonds until moving to Salem
12 years ago. Mae worked as a caregiver for child care all her
life. She enjoyed gardening, cooking (which she was famous for
her Christmas Bread), sewing (especially during the War effort)
and traveling, which she traveled all over the U.S. including
Alaska and Hawaii, she was a thrifty person.
Mae was preceded in
death by her husband William C. Jones in 1956. She is survived
by her daughters: Dorothy Mattei of Stayton and Margaret
Hofferber of California. Son: Eugene Jones of Stayton.
Grandchildren – 11; Great-grandchildren – 17; and
Great-great-grandchildren – 4. There will be no services held.
