world lost a joyous soul, Beverly Ann Kelley, Monday, March 23,
2009. She passed away, surrounded by her loving
family, in Tualatin from back surgery complications at the age
of 66. Beverly was born April 17, 1942 in Portland,
to Fred and Marie Weis. Beverly was a devoted mother to
Beth, Lisa, Dean and Todd; and a loving older sister to
Diane, Kathy, Jerry and Roy.
was a devout catholic all of her life. She attended Sacred Heart
High School in Salem the first 2 years of high school where she
was a cheerleader. She graduated from St Boniface in
Sublimity. There, she met Robert Koenig and they were married
for 18 years. Together, they owned and operated a
450 acre row crop farm. They had four children and sent them all
to 12 years of Catholic school in Stayton. She graduated from
Marylhurst with an associate degree in secretarial studies. She
worked for State Farm for 30 years as an executive secretary and
a word processor.
Stan Kelley March 20, 1987 and they just celebrated their 22nd
wedding anniversary. She never missed a chance to play
cards. She enjoyed going to the beach,
gambling, going to the movies, eating out, and traveling.
Beverly's favorite destinations included Disneyland which she
visited often over the years, and a cherished trip to London.
She liked baking, sewing, reading, going to church,
camping trips, snow skiing, Christmas shopping for kids and
grand kids, and spending time with family - an even greater
twinkle lit up her eyes at Christmas time as she decked the
halls; wrapped the presents, and baked the goodies.
is survived by husband, Stan Kelley; mother, Marie Weis;
daughters, Beth Morey and Lisa Elias (John); sons Dean and Todd
Koenig; grandsons Jerod and Zachary Morey; step son, Braden
Kelley (Kathy); step daughter, Lisa Crawford (Charlie);
step granddaughters, Gabriella and Christina; step grandson,
William; sisters, Diane (Dick) Koenig and Kathy (Greg)
Letts; brothers, Jerry (Sally) and Roy (Katie) Weis. Beverly
was preceded in death by her father, Fred Weis, who passed away
We can't express how much we will miss her warm, cheerful
spirit. Our world will not be as bright without her,
but she has gone lovingly into the Father's hands and Heaven has
gained an angel.
A rosary will be held
at 9:30am Saturday, March 28th at St Boniface Church in
Sublimity, Oregon. The memorial service will immediately follow
at 10am at St Boniface as well. The address is 375 SE Church St
Sublimity, OR 97385. A reception will follow in the
rectory basement. Donations in memory of Beverly can be
