Ontario – LaVelle,
69, died Thursday in Salem. She was born in Salem, and lived in
Albany, before moving to Ontario 37 years ago. LaVelle worked
for many years as a secretary and cook for the State Police and
the public schools. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church
in Ontario, where she was very involved.
LaVelle spent many
trips abroad on Humanitarian missions to various places around
the globe. She loved spending time gardening, baking and
traveling with family. The family would like to thank the caring
staff at Cedar Village, for the wonderful care they took of her.
She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Kleinsmith, in
1998. LaVelle is survived by Son: Jeffery (Richele) Peters of
Lyons; Daughters: Jena Peters of San Antonio, TX., Jennifer
Peters of Houston, TX. and Janilyn (Don) Mallavia of Gig Harbor,
WA. 7- grandchildren and Cooper and 1 – great-grandson. She
was preceded in death by her parents Errol and Gertrude Kintz
and sister Marilyn Kintz.
Recitation of Rosary
Sunday, September 13, 2009 at 7:00 PM and Mass of Christian
burial Monday, September 14, 2009 at 11:00 AM both at St.
Boniface Catholic Church in Sublimity. In lieu of flowers
contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
