Stayton – George O.
Pietrok, 87, passed away after a short illness on November 30,
2009. He was born at home in the Kingston area on September 17,
1922 third son of four to John and Elizabeth Ann (Zielinski)
Pietrok. After George was married he bought land about a mile from
his birthplace and lived there the rest of his life. A true
steward to the land, he loved his farm, his animals, hunting,
fishing, and baseball that he played as a child in his spare time.
George was a skilled wood worker, he was a kind-hearted, good,
honest man who took great pride in his friends and family, in
particular his great-grandkids.
George’s true joy came
form his wife of 65
years, who was his constant companion, co-worker, and best friend,
Louene (Maertz). He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic
Church and the Knights of Columbus. George is survived by his
wife: Louene of Stayton; daughter: Jeanette “Jan” Jungwirth of
Stayton; grandchildren: Gary (Jennifer) Pietrok, Kris (Steve)
Carpenter, Beki Pietrok all of Idaho, Jay (Jennifer) Jungwirth of
Stayton, and Travis ( Karrie) Jungwirth of Lyons; and 12 –
Great-grandkids, whom he loved dearly; brothers: Vincent Pietrok
of Sublimity and Elbert Pietrok of Stayton. He was preceded in
death by parents, brother Norbert and son Gerald “Jerry”. We
will miss him terribly and will never forget him.
Services will be Friday,
December 4, 2009 at 10:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic
Church in Stayton. Viewing will be Thursday, December 3, 2009 from
4 PM – 7 PM at North Santiam Funeral Service in Stayton.
Donations may be made to St. Mary Catholic Grade School in
