Betty I. Silbernagel
June 5, 1924 – January 11, 2009


Stayton – Betty, 84, died Sunday peacefully at her home in Stayton. She was born in Stayton and lived here all her life. Betty worked as a Nurse for a number of years at Santiam Memorial Hospital in Stayton. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Garden Club, and the Altar Society. Betty spent her life, living on the farm raising her family. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and traveling.

Betty married Al Silbernagel on April 10, 1948 in Sublimity, he preceded her in death on January 5, 1996. She is survived by Daughters: Barbara (Richard) Kreilich of Scio, and Marilyn (Lloyd) Pursley of Winlock, WA.; Sons: Tom (Kathy) of Malin, Steve (Jane) of Independence, Joe (Lynn) of Portland, Paul of Stayton and Bill (Tonya) of Stayton. Brothers: Tony Beitel of Stayton, and Florence (Virginia) Beitel of Stayton. Sister: Sister Agnes Beitel of Beaverton. Grandchildren: 16 Great-grandchildren – 11. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Daughter: Theresa Silbernagel; Sister: Marie Lulay, and Brothers: John & August Beitel.

Recitation of Rosary will be at 7:00 PM Tuesday, January 13, 2009 and Mass of Christian Burial will be  10:30 AM Wednesday, January 14, both at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Stayton. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Stayton.  Contributions may be made to Regis High School, St. Mary Elementary School, or to one’s own choice. Serving the family, North Santiam Funeral Service, Stayton.
