Aumsville – Bud, 83,
died December 14 in Aumsville. He was born in Cabot, Arkansas, and
moved to Portland, Oregon in 1944 and to Aumsville in 1995. Bud
served in the US Navy in WWII and Korea. He worked for over 36
years as a Steel Warehouse Foreman. Bud was a member of the VFW
and the Stayton Lions Club. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing
bingo and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Bud loved to laugh and
crack jokes, he was wonderful at helping anyone who needed it, to
meet Bud was to like him and to know him was to love him.
He is survived by his
wife Nona of Aumsville whom he married on August 24, 2006 in
Stayton. Sons: Richard
(Kathy) Simmons of Troutdale, and Gerald (Shelley) Simmons of
Woodburn; Step-daughters: Marcietta Fleming of Anchorage, AK.,
Venetta (Mike) Hanson of Stayton and Jerraletta (Renoldo)Bolivar
of Anchorage, AK.; Sister-in-law: Dorthy Simmons of Gresham;
5-grandchildren and 10- great-grandchildren; 9 –
step-grandchildren, 13 – step-great-grandchildren, and 2 –
step-great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, and many
friends and will be sorely missed. Bud was preceded in death by
Carolyn Simmons his wife of 52 years in 2000, brother: Fred
Simmons in 2007 and Sister: Patricia Lamue in 2009.
A Celebration of Life
gathering will be Sunday, January 3, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the
Aumsville Community Center in Aumsville. In lieu of flowers
contributions may be sent to Willamette Valley Hospice. Serving
