Glenn Frank Taylor
April 6, 1917—March 13, 2009

Glenn Frank Taylor was born on April 6, 1917 near Stayton, Oregon at the home place on Fern Ridge Road to his parents Joe and Elsie (Jeter) Taylor. He attended school at Oak Glen school house on Fern Ridge.  He was self-employed for many years with his mowing and rotor tilling business, and worked as a farm hand most of his adult life.  He often spoke of the work in the berry fields and the orchards.

Glenn could often be found reading his Bible. He also had a love for poetry.  His involvement with activities at the church, or with the Santiam Historical Society, is recalled by his friends.  The monthly celebration lunches with the “Senior Group” at the Stayton Christian Church were special events for him as well.  He will be missed by his friends, and his “critters”.  His love for cats gave him great pleasure, and brought many other critters to his door seeking a meal.

Glenn passed from this life on March 13, 2009 to receive his reward from Jesus, the One he knew as the Good Shepherd and Savior of his soul.  Though Glenn had no immediate family, he was cared for as a son would his father by his good friend and neighbor George Susbauer. A memorial service will be held in Glenn’s honor at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at the Christian Church located at 189 East Washington Street, in Stayton. Arrangements by North Santiam Funeral Service, Stayton.
