Scio – Bob, 88, died
Monday, November 15 in Stayton. He was born in Oakland, CA. where
he grew up. Bob served as a Seventh Day Adventist pastor for 36
years at various churches around Oregon, in Stayton from 1964 –
1970. After his retirement in 1987 he moved to Scio. Bob served in
the US Army during WWII. He loved studying the bible and memorized
many portions of the bible. Bob was a railroad buff, he enjoyed
railroading, both large and model trains, street cars, steam
engines and diesels.
He married Winona Slater
on September 21, 1952 in Burlingame, CA. Bob is survived by his
wife: Winona of Scio; Son: W. David Letcher of Sultan, WA.;
Daughter: Sharon Parmenter of Fall Creek; 2 – granddaughters and
1 – great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a daughter:
Teresa Force and his brother, Howard.
Memorial Service will be
Sunday, November, 28, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Stayton Seventh Day
Adventist Church, where he was a member. Interment will be in
Willamette National Cemetery, Portland. Contributions may be made
to the Stayton Seventh Day Adventist Church student education
