Stayton – Clifton, 71,
died Thursday in Stayton. He was born in Mena, Arkansas, where he
grew up. He moved to Detroit in 1965
and lived in Mill City and throughout the Willamette
Valley, including Lyons and Stayton. Clifton worked at sawmills,
as a logger, a truck driver, and last as a ranch mechanic for over
20 years. He was known as a jack of all trades. Clifton was a
member of Harvest Time Pentecostal Church in Salem. He loved the
Lord, and enjoyed fishing, woodworking, traveling, gospel music
and walking his dog.
Clifton married Charlene
Wylam on September 5,
1959 in Laramie, WY. He is survived by his wife: Charlene of
Stayton; Sons: Roy Loftin and John Loftin of Stayton, Jimmy Loftin
of Sweet Home, and Billy Loftin of Lyons; Daughter: Reba Bullard
of Wheatland, CA.; Brothers: Raymond Loftin of Laramie, WY.,
Robert Loftin of Albany, and his twin brother Preston Loftin of
Stayon; Sisters: Pauline Hood of Benton, AR., and Maxine Garcia of
Clovis, New Mexico. 5 – Grandchildren and 1 – Great-grandson.
Clifton was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Memorial Service will be
Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 3:00 PM at Harvest Time Pentecostal
Church in Salem. Serving the family North
