Lyons - Nancy was born
in Ontario, OR, as the 4th of 11 children.
As the older sister, Nancy was a “mother figure” to her
younger brothers and sisters and a true friend to her older
siblings. She earned a teaching degree from Eastern Oregon State
College in 1973. Nancy married Bill Lulay August 10, 1974, and
they had 4 children that were the pride and joy of her life.
Nancy was a true role
model with a positive energy and amazing work ethic. Her strong
compassion lead her to always put others first and she was happy
to do it; volunteering in the community and helping others was
part of her everyday routine. She hosted countless gatherings and
special occasions with her warm welcome and amazing cooking. She
influenced many children’s lives as a teacher and mentor. Nancy
was an active member in the Catholic Church. She loved life,
especially being a wife, mother, and grandmother. Nancy enjoyed
visiting family, flowers, digging in the dirt, laughter and hugs.
As with everything in
life, Nancy took on her very aggressive cancer with courage and
the desire to live life to the fullest, always being true to
herself and values. Her family could not be more proud of the
example she continued to set during her toughest days.
Nancy is survived by her
loving husband of over 35 years Bill Lulay, her 4 children Bill
(Kari), Eric (Kristin), Adam (Megan), Lindsey (Joe) Zuber and 5
grandchildren; also by her parents Harry and Lenore Erlebach, 9
siblings, her mother and father-in-law Billy and Lorraine Lulay,
37 nieces and nephews, 11 sister-in-laws, 9 brother-in-laws and
many more family and friends.
