Jay Franklin “Frank” McKay Jr.
January 15, 1937 – September 8, 2010


Keizer – Frank, 73, died Wednesday in Keizer. He was born in The Dalles, and raised in Sherman County. Frank graduated from Moro High School, Oregon Technical Institute, and Oregon State University.  His main career was as an Agriculturist for Norpac Foods, Inc., where he worked from 1965 to 1995. Frank then took up real estate, and worked for Prudential for several years. He enjoyed his family, jazz music, sports, playing cards, hunting and trips to the casinos, especially Grande Ronde.

Frank was married to Judy Morris, she preceded him in death in 1975. He then married Roberta Heckman on June 2, 1984 in McMinnville. Frank is survived by his wife; Roberta of Keizer: Sons: Jay McKay III of Scio; Michael McKay of Lawrenceville, Georgia; Jeff McKay of Albany; Brent Heckman of Exeter, CA.; and Greg Heckman of Keizer. Daughters: Nancy Gregory of Salem, Mary Bokovoy of Hood River; Nazaree’ Jackson of Redman; and Jackie McKay of Oakland, CA.; Sisters: Peggy Mineer of Kuna, Idaho; and Kay Thompson of Goldendale, WA.; 17 Grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a daughter; Molly in 1988 and Brother: Douglas in 2004. Frank attended Dayspring Fellowship Church in Keizer.

Viewing will be Sunday, September 12, 2010 from 2-4 pm at North Santiam Funeral Service in Stayton. Services will be Monday, September 13, 2010 at 10:00 am at Macy and Sons Funeral Home in McMinnville. Interment in Evergreen Memorial Park in McMinnville. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Serving the family North Santiam Funeral Service, Stayton and Macy and Sons Funeral Home, McMinnville.
