Hilda was born at
Hufflund, North Dakota on the 31st of August, 1911.
She passed away on Monday the 31st of May in Sublimity. She was 98. The daughter of Peter and Bessie Nelson. Hilda
was married to Patrick O’Brien on Jan. 3, 1931 in Kalispell,
Montana and they made their home in Montana, Idaho, and
Washington before moving to Portland in 1946, they then lived in
Idanha, Detroit, the Oregon Coast and Mill City before moving to
Medford. Patrick preceded her in death in 1979 and in 1980 she moved
to Gates before moving to Salem in 1999, in 2004 she moved to
Sublimity. She was a member of the
Gates Community Church. She enjoyed
Flowers, sewing and needlework and gardening.
She is survived by her
daughters, V. “Jill” Hueners of Medford, E. “Lois”
Budlong of Mill City, Lauralee Jackson
of Salem, Pamelia Doan of Lebanon; brother, Robert
“Bob” Nelson of El Cajon, CA, ; sisters, Doris O’Brien of
Mill City; 9 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday,
June 2 from 2pm-5 pm at Weddle Funeral Chapel, Stayton,
OR. Memorial Service will be
Thursday, June 3 at 3 pm at Gates Community Church, 40070 Gates
School Rd. Gates, Oregon. Graveside
service will be at Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery, Medford, OR.
