Stayton - Louise, 97,
died Tuesday in Stayton. She was born in Stayton to Peter T.
“Red” and Philomena A. (Duman) Etzel and lived her entire life
in the Stayton and Aumsville area. Louise was a member of
Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Stayton and St. Boniface
Catholic Church in Sublimity, the Altar Society and the Garden
Club. She enjoyed gardening, her flowers and sewing. Louise loved
her grandkids and spending time with her children. She married
Kenneth M. Porter on September 6, 1938 in Sublimity, he preceded
her in death in 1993.
Louise is survived by
children: Raymond (Shirlee) Porter of Scio, Robert (Sondra) Porter
of Lyons, Donald Porter of Stayton, Carol (Jim) Perry of Silverton
and Shirley (Mike) Booth of Clatskanie; Brother: Peter A.
(Jeannie) Etzel of Stayton and Sister-in-law: Marcey Etzel of
Stayton; 16 - Grandchildren ; 35- Great-grandchildren and 11 –
great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by children:
Marlene, Susanne and Gary Porter; Brothers: Albin, Vince, Leonard,
and Ted Etzel and
Sisters: Philomena Basl and Matilda Smith.
Recitation of Rosary
will be Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 7:30 pm and Mass of
Christian Burial will be Friday, December 31, 2010 at 11:00 am
both at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Sublimity. Interment will
be in St. Mary Cemetery in Stayton. Contributions may be made to
St. Mary School, Stayton Food Bank, or to charity of one’s
