Stayton – Hal, 46,
died Monday in Stayton. He was born in Salem the 11th of 12
children to Rev. William & Fern Scott who preceded him in
death. Hal grew up in Scio and Sweet Home, living in Lyons and
Stayton. He loved the Willamette Valley. Hal graduated from
Stayton High School in 1983. He worked as a millwright for
Frank Lumber and Lemon’s Mill, also working for Weyerhauser and
Trust Joist, the last working in the engineering department at
Salem Hospital.
Hal was a member of
Santiam Chapel in Lyons. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing
guitar & singing, camping, hiking, swimming, and he loved the
outdoors, his friends called him the fish whisperer. Hal made
homemade slingshots that he was very accurate with. He was a
devoted uncle, a friend to everyone, and could always make you
smile. Everywhere that Hal went he would see someone that he knew.
He was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Hal married Shawnette
McFee on May 1, 1995 in Mehama. He is survived by his wife:
Shawnette of Stayton; Son: Guy Scott of Stayton; Brothers: Ralph
(Catherine) Scott, John (Norma) Scott and Sam (Traci) Scott all of
Lyons, Dale (Cheryl) Scott of Salem, Mark (Tammy) Scott of
Stayton, Ron McFee, Wayne McFee and Shawn McFee all of San Diego,
CA.; Sisters: Juanita Satre, Ruth Scott, Lois (Michael) House and
Faye Anderson all of Salem, Melody Hayes and Dawn (Richard)
Schotthoefer of Stayton, Michelle (Paul) Garcia of Keizer, Danette
McFee of Texas and Jody McFee of Pennsylvania; Mother-in-law by
osmosis: Karla Ishie of Stayton; many nieces and nephews; and his
“fur children”: Bug, Wally and Digger. He was preceded in
death by a sister: Elaine Wildung, a niece, great-niece and his
“fur child” Knuckles. Special thanks to Kendra, Chris, Ardis
and Marlina for all your support and the engineering crew at Salem
Hospital.
Celebration of Life will
be Friday, March 5 at 2:00 PM at Santiam Chapel in Lyons. Serving
