Bobi-Jo Young
June 28, 1970 – July 13, 2010

Salem – Bobi-Jo, 40, died Tuesday, July 13 in Portland. She was born in Lincoln City and lived most of her life in the Salem area. Bobi-Jo worked as a CNA for many years. She was a member of Mission Baptist Church in Salem. She was a joy as a child to her parents and the apple of her Dad’s eye. Bobi-Jo was an amazing woman. Her whole life she believed in God, no matter how hard life was for her, she kept her faith. Our Mom was a fighter, she was so strong and loved everybody. Bobi-Jo had a big heart with a lot of love to give. She tried her hardest to overcome the illness and difficulties in her life, but it was a losing battle. Her family meant so much to her, her sister and brother were her best friends. Her four girls, she loved unconditionally, more than life itself. James was the man and the love of her life. Our Mom was misunderstood by everyone. No one truly knew the pain she felt or what she went through everyday to survive and fight the hardships. Our Mom is in heaven now, she’s not suffering or in pain any longer. She’s happy to have finally met her Savior and be with her Dad. Bobi-Jo is at peace now and will be truly missed by everyone, and never forgotten.

She is survived by her Mother: Millie Young of Salem; Grandmother: Dorothy Brockway of Salem; Daughters: Crystal Stevenson of Greenfield, IN., Kalie Stevenson of Salem, Jamie Stevenson of Mt. Angel, and Tiffanie Stevenson of Independence; Brother: Steven “Buddy” Young of Victorville, CA.; Sister: Tani Young of Salem; and Granddaughters: Tiffanie Wilson of Salem and Kaylece Pierson of Mt. Angel. Bobi-Jo was preceded in death by her companion: Robert Workman in 2009. Graveside services will be Tuesday, July 20 at Noon at Gilliand Cemetery in Sweet Home. Serving the family, North Santiam Funeral Service, Stayton.
