Louann Marie Basl

February 15, 1936 March 12, 2011

 

Stayton Louann, 75, was born to Susie and Louie Schaecher, in Mt. Angel, Oregon.  She lived and attended school in Mt. Angel.

Louann married Richard Basl on April 23, 1955, in Mt. Angel.  They spent their lives, along with their four children, in Stayton, Oregon, raising strawberries and grass seed on Fern Ridge Road.  Louann also worked as a housekeeper for 23 years at Santiam Memorial Hospital.  For 24 years, Louann and her husband, along with her daughter Danette made crafts and attended many bazaars and festivals selling their crafts.

Louann passed away on Saturday, and spent her last days surrounded by family and friends.  She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Bill Keady.  Louann is survived by her husband, Richard; and her son, Randy (Lynne); and her daughters, Denise (Dave) Norby, Danette Keady, and Karen (Alex) Winkles .  She is also survived by grandchildren, Alejandra (Jason) Koehnke, Richard, Louis (Mindy), Jess (Lindsey), Bill (Sarah) Keady , Jim Keady, Erin and Kelli Norby; and great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Lucas, Kierstyn, and Maddox; and her brother Jim (Judy) Schaecher; and many cousins, nieces and nephews, and in-laws.

The family wants to thank Dr. Strother, and the caring staff of the Salem Hospital Oncology Floor and Stayton Memorial Hospital, as well as family and friends who visited and helped out with meals, and the many well wishes and prayers sent her way.

Viewing will be Thursday, March 17, from  3:00 pm 9:00 pm. Recitation of Rosary will be Thursday, March 17, at 7:00 pm, Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, March 18, at 10:00 am both held at Immaculate Conception  Catholic Church in Stayton. Interment in St. Mary Cemetery, Stayton.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Mary Elementary  or Regis High School. Serving the family, North Santiam Funeral Service, Stayton.
