Floyd Dean Carlson
March 10
, 1921 - June 27, 2011

Aumsville  Floyd D. Carlson passed away peacefully on June 27, 2011 from pancreas/liver cancer. He was born in Valentine, Nebraska and moved to Oregon in 1939. He was married February 13, 1941 to Helen C. Fetters.

Floyd spent most of his life driving trucks (log, gravel, etc.) but as a true Man of God, Floyd's heart was for serving God, caring for his family and a great heart for missions.  Floyd's gentle spirit provided much guidance and solace for his family and friends.  His laugh could light up any room, and at times, his humor was portrayed through his innocence.  He had the gift of making anyone feel special and had a genuine appreciation for the simple things in life.  He was always active in the church as an elder, a superintendent, an usher and where ever there was a need.  Floyd's life says it all -- he lived what he believed and that is his most powerful testimony and legacy to everyone remaining.

He loved going to church, sharing his faith with others, family gatherings, gardening, watching bull riding, sunsets, and sweets!

Floyd is survived by his wife, Helen and their seven (7) children:  Judy Mumey, Steven Carlson, Javita Payseno, Mary Carlson, Michael Carlson, Rodney Carlson and Loan Watts.

Floyd and Helen were also blessed with 13 Grandchildren (Rebecca Byers, Dalene Holm, Crystal Barker, Darron Mumey, Shelley Carlson, Robert Carlson, Aaron Carlson, Kimberly Payseno, Danielle Payseno, Andrew Carlson, Carly Carlson, Casey Carlson, & Jordan Carlson), 15 Great-Grandchildren, and 6 Great-Great-Grandchildren.

Floyd was preceded in death by his two brothers and one sister.

Memorial Service will be held at New Life Foursquare Church in Stayton, Oregon on July 8, 2011 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate to:   Odyssey Hospice Foundation 707 13th St. SE Salem, OR. 97301. Serving the family, North Santiam Funeral Service, Stayton.
