Aumsville – Lyle, 68,
died Tuesday in Aumsville. He was born in Forest Grove and grew up
in Dallas, graduating from Dallas High School. Lyle served in the
US Air Force during the Vietnam War, working on black boxes from
planes at Travis Air Force Base. After the war he lived in
California until moving back to Dallas in 1976, living in Salem
until moving to Aumsville 5 years ago. Lyle worked as a design
engineer for 40 years
working for Teledyne, UPS and most recently Littau Harvester in
Stayton. He enjoyed computers, reading and learning new things.
Lyle loved his family
and was a loving husband, father, grandfather
and great-grandfather . He loved Oregon and was a true Oregonian,
loving rain. Lyle married Susan Elton on April 17, 1965 in Carson
City, NV. He is survived by his wife Susan of Aumsville; children:
Lyle (Debbie) Gibby Jr. of Aumsville, Sarah Prunk of Dayton and
Andrew (Heather) Gibby of Ft. Lee, VA.; sisters: Barbara Gibby of
Forest Grove and Joy Dull of Salem; grandchildren – 10 and 2 –
great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be
Thursday, October 27 from 6pm – 8pm and a memorial service will
be Friday, October 28 at 11:00 am both at North
Santiam Funeral Service, Stayton.
