Stayton – Patricia,
90, died Monday in Salem. She was born in Colorado Springs, CO.
In 1936 Patricia’s family moved to Stayton, Oregon. She
attended Mt. Angel College in Mt. Angel, where she received her
Associate’s Degree. She married Joseph Koenig on April 15, 1941
in Sublimity, where they lived before moving to the family farm in
Stayton in 1942. Patricia was very involved with Joe Koenig and
Sons Farms until Joe retired in 1978. She enjoyed dancing,
socializing with her friends, and loved spending time with her
grandchildren. Patricia was a member of the Catholic Daughter’s
and St. Anne’s Circle. She was preceded in death by husband Joe
on July 4, 1982, as well as son Don Koenig on May 26, 2010.
Patricia is survived by
Sons: Bob (Annie) Koenig of Turner, Dick (Diane) Koenig of
Sublimity, and Dennis (Laurie) Koenig of Turner; Daughter-in-law:
Ruth Koenig of Stayton; Brother: Foster Thompson of Coos Bay;
Grandchildren: Beth, Lisa, Dean, Todd, Scott, Brenda, Amy, Joe,
Angie and Chad and 5 great-grandchildren.
Patricia’s family
would like to give a “special thanks” to the staff at
Brookstone for the wonderful care they gave. Recitation of the
Rosary will be Monday, January 31, 2011 at 7:00 pm and Mass of
Christian Burial will be Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at 1:00 pm,
both at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where she was a
member. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Stayton. In lieu
of flowers, contributions may be made to Regis High School or St.
Mary Elementary School. Serving the family, North
Santiam Funeral Service, Stayton.
