Juan Alvarez Lopez
April 23, 1970 – December 29, 2011

Stayton – Juan, 41, died December 29 in Mill City. He was born in Puruandiro, Mechoacan, Mexico. Juan moved to Salem in 1988 and lived in Stayton, Mill City and Lyons. He worked harvesting fruits and vegetables in Washington and California, also helping reforestation, by replanting trees, fighting wildfires and logging for the last 16 years. Juan enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and being outdoors. He married Shawna Runions on April 28, 1996 in Aumsville.

Juan is survived by his wife Shawna Runions of Stayton; Father: Guadalupe Alvarez Quintin of Mexico: Son: Juanjavier Miguel Runions-Lopez of Stayton; Step-daughter: Ashley Brianna Shauntal Runions of Salem; Brothers: Raul, Joseluis; Sisters: Hilda, Maria Isabelle, Albertina and Rosa; he was preceded in death by his mother, Adela and brother, Rafael.

Recitation of Rosary will be Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at 6:00 pm and Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, January, 5, 2012 at 11:00 am, both at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Stayton. Viewing will be Thursday, January 5, 2012 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. Interment in Lone Oak II Cemetery in Stayton. Serving the family, North Santiam Funeral Service, Stayton.
