Williamsburg,
VA. - Jeff Rauscher was born at Chateauroux AFB, France on
November 19, 1958 and died at Williamsburg, Virginia on June 4,
2011. He is survived by his parents, Colonel Norm Rauscher, USAF
(Ret) and Carol Rauscher of Aumsville, OR;
his two sons, Cody and Gabe Rauscher, of Williamsburg, VA;
his brother, Gregory Rauscher of Williamsburg, VA; and close
personal friend, Robin Jones, of Lanexa, VA.
A sister, Leslie Rissberger preceded him in death earlier
this year.
Jeff
grew up and attended schools in many countries and states as his
father was a career Air Force officer.
Jeff graduated from high school in Anchorage AK, Oregon
State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree, and
a Master of Science Degree from the University of Southern
California.
He
spent most of his nearly 30-year Air Force career as an
intelligence officer. He was involved in highly classified
operations both on active duty and later as a Department of Air
Force civilian employee. He received many awards and decorations, to include the
Bronze Star for operations in the enduring Freedom Campaign in
Afghanistan.
Jeff
enjoyed all athletics, and was an avid runner and hunter. He
particularly enjoyed deer and elk hunting in Oregon and moose
hunting in Alaska with his father.
Although both initially growing up and later as an Air
Force officer he spent many years away from Oregon,
he always considered Oregon his home.
A
memorial service is planned for Jeff at the St. Boniface Catholic
Church in Sublimity, OR on Saturday, July 30, at 10:00AM. Subsequent burial with military honors will be in the
St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery,
