Donna Jean Rutledge

Stayton  – Donna was born June 27 th 1939 in Duluth, Minnesota and passed away May 26, 2011 in Stayton, Oregon.   Donna survived a brain aneurysm in 2004, although the resulting stroke was devastating and eventually led to her death at 71.   Donna loved life, her family and friends, and games.   She also loved to be of service to others working in lounge and banquet services for over 30 years; her last position being at Denny’s lounge (Ryan Dr).  Her last few years were spent at Marian Estates where the staff brightened her life and enjoyed her quick wit.   She was known for loving cats almost as much as she loved to play dice games. At her passing, she had over 1000 cat pictures on her walls, along with having over 100 stuffed-animal cats that rotated throughout her room.

She is survived by her four children and their spouses; Mickey and husband, Bryan Petersen (Sublimity), Debbie and husband, Mike Vaughn (Sublimity), Leah and husband, Larry King (Lockeford, CA), and Scott and wife, Michelle Pearson (Aurora, CO); and her grandchildren (8), and great grandchildren (7), along with five sisters in Minnesota (Janice, Bev, Betty, Peggy & Mary and their families).

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Willamette Valley Humane Society, PO Box 13005, Salem OR 97309.  Private family services will be held. Serving the family, North Santiam Funeral Service, Stayton.
