Stayton
– Marie, 92, died Sunday at her home. She was born in Salem and
grew up in Gates until moving to Stayton in 1938. Marie married
Joseph Toepfer on September 13, 1938 in Sublimity, he preceded her
in death on June 5, 1993. They farmed together all of their lives.
Marie enjoyed fishing, cooking, playing piano, baking, crocheting,
doing crossword puzzle books, and being with her grandchildren and
great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic
Church in Sublimity.
Marie
is survived by daughters: Rose Marie (Carl) Schmitz of Woodland,
WA., and Elvina (Jim) Johnson of Oregon City; sons: Larry &
Ron Toepfer both of Stayton; brother: William Tilman Rains of
Stayton; grandchildren: Linda Thomasson, Carol Service, David
Schmitz, Allan Schmitz, Dorothy Pence, Jeff Johnson, Diana Quamen,
Debbie Mewing and Joe Johnson; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was
preceded in death by brothers: Charles “Leon” Cline and Paul
Louis “Bud” Cline.
Recitation
of Rosary, Thursday, July 28, 2011 at 7:30 pm and Mass of
Christian Burial on Friday, July 29, 2011 at 11:00 am both held at
St. Boniface Catholic Church in Sublimity.
Interment in St. Boniface Cemetery in Sublimity.
