Aumsville – Monty,
77, died Friday in Salem. He was born in San Diego, CA. and moved
to Aumsville in 2007 from Redding. Monty worked as an Agency
Manager for Farm Bureau Insurance for 14 years earning his
Chartered Life Underwriters degree during that time. He played
semi-pro baseball for several years for the Richmond Merchants in
the Summer and Guys Drug Store in the winter. Monty enjoyed
keeping busy, he enjoyed gardening, yard work, remodeling, sports,
making fudge and being a grandpa and great-grandpa.
He was a lifetime
blood donor and had donated many gallons of blood, for which he
was very proud to do. Recently, Monty had joined the newly formed
Aumsville Community Theatrical group, and they will dedicate the
first play in his name this weekend. He was a member of Stayton
United Methodist Church.
Monty married Vi Wyeth
on July 20, 1952 in Richmond, CA., she preceded him in death on
December 30, 2007. He is survived by daughters: Terri Urquhart of
Aloha and Karen Sampson of Crane; son: Rickie Urquhart of
Aumsville; brother: Donald Urquhart of Valencia, CA.
5-grandchildren and 10 – great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will
be Friday, May 27 at 11:00 am at Stayton United Methodist Church.
Private interment will be in Aumsville Cemetery. Contributions may
be made to Stayton Community food bank. Serving the family, North
Santiam Funeral Service, Stayton.
