Ron Hilton
August 15, 1939 October 15, 2012

Stayton Ron, 73, died Monday in Stayton. He was born in Salem and grew up in West Stayton, living in Turner, Grand Ronde, and Salem. Ron graduated from Cascade High School in 1957. He farmed for many years in the Marion/Turner area. Ron raised corn, beans, strawberries and was one of the last farmers to grow pole beans in 1976.

He met his soul mate late in life, Kathy, they  married on September 15, 1980 in Lake Tahoe, NV., and lived happily ever after. They owned and operated Grand Ronde Wrecking for 9 years. Kathy preceded him in death on October 26, 2009. Ron was a member of Jefferson Baptist Church, the Eagles, and North Santiam Sportsmans Club. He enjoyed  hunting, fishing, camping, doing jigsaw puzzles, playing cribbage, pinochle, sudoku and dominoes.

Ron is survived by children: Linda (Steve) Calavan of Sisters, Sandi (Brent) Hiatt of Sublimity, Glenn (Andrea) Hilton of Stayton, Diane (Steve) Stump of Portland, Linda (Doug) Moran of Tigard and Bob (Tricia) Smith of Salem; brother: Stanley (Betty) Hilton of Aumsville; sister: Sharon (Floyd) Durkee of Stayton; 26 grandchildren; 26-great-grandchildren; 4 - great-great-grandchildren; an aunt and uncle, numerous close cousins, nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by daughter, Karen.

The family wishes to thank, Dr. Cook, Maria, Clarice, Tessa, Judith and everyone at Willamette Valley Hospice for the care given to our Dad. Also, a special thanks, to Paola, Carla and Yolanda at Woodside Care Home for the wonderful patience and care the last 2 months. Viewing will be Thursday, October 18, from 3pm-7 pm at North Santiam Funeral Service. Memorial service will be Sunday, October 21 at 2:00pm at Anthony Hall in Sublimity. Private interment in Lone Oak Cemetery, Stayton. Contributions may be made to Willamette Valley Hospice. Serving the family, North Santiam Funeral Service, Stayton.
