Milton, 77, died Saturday in Stayton. He was born in Omaha, Neb.
Milton moved to Surprise Valley, Oregon in 1962 from California
and in 1966 he moved to the West Stayton/Stayton/Aumsville and
Jefferson areas. He worked as a dairy farmer all of his life and
was a self proclaimed jack of all trades and master of none.
Milton owned and operated M&L
ceramics for 10 years, he volunteered at Gleaners for many years,
and was a caretaker
at Jefferson Cemetery for 18 years. Milton worked for the state
forestry department as well as Roseburg Lumber Co. He enjoyed sled
dog racing, fishing and baseball.
very involved with his sons, coaching little league and as a boy
scout leader. He was a musician and a guitar picker and played
with Boxcar Willy. Milton was a member of State Street Pentecostal
Church of God and Pringle Pentecostal, both in Salem. He married
LaVeda Vanderheiden on July 17, 1953 in Corcoran, CA, she preceded
him in death on August 4, 2009.

(Dorothy) Jeffers of Canby, Cheslee (Tammy) Jeffers of Salem,
Preslee (Teresa) Jeffers of Molalla and Bradlee (Fawnda) Jeffers
of Jefferson; daughter: Cindy Kellogg of Salem; brothers: Sam (Marion) Jeffers of
Roseburg and Russell (Dora) Jeffers of Woodburn; 21
grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
service will be Thursday, February 2, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the
Church of God of Prophecy in Aumsville. Serving the family, North
Santiam Funeral Service in Stayton.
