Stayton – Phyllis, 72, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February
15, 2012. She was the oldest child of Bob and Luella Town.
Phyllis lived the majority of her life in the Stayton area.
Phyllis married Don Schotthoefer and they were married over 40
years. She and Don attended Jefferson Baptist Church for 30 years.
Phyllis taught Sunday
school and was very active in the church. She was known for her
strong faith in the Lord and reading from her Bible daily. Phyllis
was fortunate to be able to stay home and raise her kids.
Her greatest joys
in life came from her grandchildren.
She was preceded in
death by her Mom, Luella just 20 days prior, brother, Jerry Town,
and an infant son. Phyllis is survived by husband Don of Stayton;
daughter, Debbie Sentman of Roseburg; sons: Michael (Miranda)
Schotthoefer of Sublimity and Jeff Schotthoefer of Stayton; two
grandsons and three granddaughters. Brother: Bob Town of Mt.
Angel; sisters: Sandra Ailstock of Salem and Pat Jordan of Turner.
Don and all of her
kids were at her side when she peacefully passed. We know she is
dancing with the Lord! The family would like to thank Dr Hotan and
the Santiam Memorial Hospital staff.
A Celebration of
Life will be held at Jefferson Baptist Church on Sunday, February
26, 2012 at 2pm. Donations may be made in her name to
the Stayton Food Bank. Serving the family, North
Santiam Funeral Service, Stayton.
