Stayton – Luella, 90,
passed away peacefully in her own home January 27, with her loving
family at her side. She was born in Fergus Falls, MN., and grew up
there. Luella moved to Brooks from Washington and owned the Brook
Nook restaurant and bar. She moved to Clatskanie where she owned
the Kozy Lunch restaurant and bar. Luella moved to Silverton and
owned Bob’s Hideaway restaurant and bar. She settled in Stayton
in 1960 and owned and operated Bob’s Happy Hour restaurant and
bar from 1960 until 1985.
Luella was a member of
Jefferson Baptist Church in Jefferson. She enjoyed doing all kinds
of crafts, crocheting, gardening, fishing, hunting, and traveling,
which she did lots of. Luella’s favorite color was red and her
favorite flowers were sunflowers. She is going to be reunited with
family and friends that proceeded her in death, one of which is
her husband Robert Town who died in 1969.
Luella is survived by
her four loving children: Phyllis (Don) Schotthoefer of Stayton,
Robert (Lynda) Town of Mt. Angel, Sandra (Bob) Ailstock of Salem
and Patricia (Dave) Jordan of Turner; brother: Maynard Linman of
Tacoma, WA.; sisters: Darlene Martin of Longview, WA., and Norma
Avery of Ridgefield, WA.; 8 – grandchildren; 14 –
great-grandchildren; and 5 – great-great-grandchildren.
There will be no funeral
services at her request. Private inurnment will be in Belcrest
Cemetery in Salem. All
