Turner – Phyllis,
79, died July 17 in Turner. She was born in McDunn, WV
growing up and living in West Virginia until moving to
Aumsville in 1967. Phyllis lived in Valsetz for ten years
until settling in Turner in 1978. She worked as a medical
transcriptionist for 19 years for Salem Hospital.
Phyllis was a great
Mom, who had many enjoyments. She did many different kinds of
crafts including making Victorian lampshades and ceramics.
Phyllis played many instruments, mainly the piano, which she
played at United Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Stayton,
where she was a member. She married Raymond Atha on November
30, 1950 in Powellton, WV.
Phyllis is survived
by her husband: Raymond Atha Sr. of Turner; sons: Raymond Atha
Jr. of Turner, and Lawrence Atha of Turner; one brother; five
sisters; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and many
extended church family. She was preceded in death by sons:
Ricky and Chris; five brothers and one sister.
A private memorial
service will be held at a later date. Contributions may be
made to the Disabled Veterans of America. Serving the family, North
