George W. Peters
August 20, 1934 – June 6, 2013

Stayton – George, 78, died June 6 in Salem. He was born in Stayton and has lived here all his life. George worked as a school bus driver and at Simpson’s Mill before working at Norpac, until retiring after 34 years in 1996. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Stayton.

George married Marilyn Nokelby on November 5, 1955 in Stayton. He is survived by his wife: Marilyn of Stayton; children: Mark (Tresa) Peters of Salem, Randy (Connie) Peters of Bend, David (Vicki) Peters of Sublimity and Amy (Mike) Callahan of Sublimity; brothers: Joe Peters of Sublimity, Ed Peters of Sublimity and Ted Peters of Stayton; sisters: Frances Bridges of Junction City and Helen Ruettgers of Stayton; 10 – grandchildren and 1 – great-grandchild.

George enjoyed gardening and loved watching Stayton High School sports, especially watching his grandchildren participate in sports.

Vigil/Rosary will be Monday, June 10 at 5:30 pm and Celebration of Eucharist will be Tuesday, June 11 at 11:00 am both at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Stayton. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Stayton. Contributions may be made to Stayton Booster Club. Serving the family, North Santiam Funeral Service, Stayton.
