Carolyn Ann Shepherd

April 9, 1910 – October 19, 2012


Moscow, ID. - Carolyn Ann Shepherd, 102, a resident of Moscow, ID passed away early Friday morning at the Aspen Park Healthcare in Moscow, ID from causes related to age. She was born on April 9, 1910 at Sublimity, OR to Bruno and Katherine (Fessler) Boedigheimer.  She attended a Catholic School in Sublimity, OR.

She married Paul Shepherd on March 24, 1934 at Klamath Falls, OR and the couple made their home there where Mr. Shepherd logged. The couple moved to Tensed, ID in 1945 where they operated the Sportsman Tavern for several years.  Mr. Shepherd died in 1963.

Mrs. Shepherd worked at Codd’s Department Store in Tekoa, WA for several years.  Carolyn also sold Avon products in the area. In the 1980’s she moved into the Leisure apartments in Tensed, ID and later to Moscow, ID to live with her daughter in 1997.  In 1999 she moved in to an assisted living at Latah Health services in Moscow, ID. and later to Aspen Park Healthcare.

She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Desmet, ID.  She was active with the Tensed Senior Citizens.  She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, fishing, camping and all her grandchildren.

She is survived by one daughter, Beverly Tanner and her husband Wilber, Moscow, ID and three granddaughters, Debra Tanner, Paula Beck and Shelli Morgan and 8 great grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

A family gathering will be June 15, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the Lone Oak Cemetery, Stayton. Kramer Funeral Home, Palouse, WA is handling the arrangements.
