Stayton – Janice, 70,
died Monday, February 25 in Salem. She was born at home on Old
Mehama Road in Stayton to Harvey and Cecilia (Silbernagel) Fery,
living here her entire life. Janice worked as an administrative
assistant at the Oregon Highway Department for 16 years until her
retirement. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic
Church in Stayton, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Circle and the Altar
Janice enjoyed gardening
in her fruit orchard and large yard, crocheting quilts, sewing and
making her own clothes, bowling and coupon rebating. She loved
babysitting her two grandchildren who were very important to her.
Also, her special lap dog Bailey. Janice married Clark E. Smith on
May 18, 1974 in Stayton.
She is survived by her
husband: Clark of Stayton; sons: Shilo (Tiffany) Smith of Lyons,
Eric (Angela) Smith of Stayton and Steven (Jennifer) Smith of
Jefferson; brother Joe (Karen) Fery of Scio; sisters: JoAnn Robson
of Keizer and Jeanette (Larry) Griesenauer of Salem; and loving
granddaughter, Emily and loving grandson Yonatan “Yoni”.

for the loving care they gave to Janice.
Vigil will be Monday, March 4, 2013 at 5:30 pm and Mass of
Christian Burial will be Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at 11:00 am both
at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Stayton. Interment
will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Stayton. Contributions may be made
to the Disabled & Paralyzed Veterans of America, the Church or
St. Mary. Serving the family, North
