Francis H. Bodeker
May 2, 1921 – November 4, 2014

Mill City – Francis, 93, died November 4 at his home in Mill City. He was born in Mill City and lived there all of his life. Francis served in the US Army during WWII. He worked as a self-employed logger most of his life and later as a Chip Truck Driver for Frank Lumber Co. Francis was a true outdoorsman, enjoying camping, and exploring the woods, hiking, mushroom picking, hunting, fishing, woodworking, golfing, and had a love of all animals. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Mill City, serving as Past President.

Francis married Jessie L. Leach on February 7, 1948 in Mill City. He is survived by his wife: Jessie of Mill City; daughters: Lynn Minton of Mill City and Lonnie Hardison of Aloha; grandchildren: Shannon Swan, Michele Spier & Ben Minton and 5 great-grandchildren. Francis was preceded in death by son, Francis “Lee” Bodeker, sisters, Helen Salchenberger and Margaret Kunkel, and grandson, Stefan Swan.

A private service will be held at a later date. Contributions may be made to the Humane Society in his name. Serving the family, North Santiam Funeral Service, Stayton.
