Helen E. Davis

Aumsville Helen, 88, died Thursday, July 31 in Salem. She was born in Oklahoma City, OK, growing up in Phoenix, AZ moving to Albany in 1977 and settling in Aumsville in 1990. Helen worked for Hewlett-Packard for many years. She married Charles Cornell on August 30, 1950, he preceded her in death on January 23, 1977. Helen later married Forrest Davis on April 18, 1990, he preceded her in death on November 18, 2002.

She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Aumsville. Helen loved her family first in her life, being very dedicated and protective of them. She never know a stranger and always hugged your neck. Helen enjoyed playing the piano, singing and talking about the bible. She taught her kids, grandkids and church kids how to play the piano. Helen wrote a journal and book, and going to church was the only thing that she did for herself.

She is survived by children: Linda Cornell of Albany, Anna Griffin of Aumsville, Kitty Sue Globun of Fairfield Glades, TN, Charles Cornell of Dallas, Patricia McHaffie of Chandler, AZ, and Peter Cornell of Mill City; step-children: Ronald Davis of McMinnville, Janis Puckett of Sweet Home and Michael Colbisky of California; sisters: Vivian Goss of Phoenix, AZ and Jean Adona of Nampa, ID; 19 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by son, Anthony Cornell, step-children, Bud & Judy Davis, one brother and five sisters.

Memorial service will be Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 10:00 am at the Church of God of Prophecy in Aumsville. Contributions may be made to the church in her name. Serving the family, North Santiam Funeral Service, Stayton.
