Francis E. “Red” Etzel
May 6, 1934 – March 17, 2014

Francis, 79, passed away Monday, March 17, surrounded in the love of his family and welcomed into heaven by his wife of 45 years, Dolores, who waited 12 years for him to join her. Their children are Tom and Sharon Etzel, Diane and Steve North, F. John and Sacha Etzel, Sandra and Kevin Raschko, and Janet and Paul Odenthal. Grandchildren—Stephanie and Robby, Matthew and Erica, Natalie, Brittney, Chad, Kawika, Makua, Hannah, Adam, Alyssa, Andy, Joanna, Julia and Daniel. Great-grandsons--Liam and Noah. Siblings--Sister Ruth Etzel, Donnie Etzel, Duane Bradley and Bennie Silbernagel. He was predeceased by his parents Frank and Anna Etzel and his sisters Mary Ann Silbernagel and Jeanne Bradley.

Dad treasured his family, showing his love by providing for them and in the way he lived his life. He worked at Stuckart Lumber Company and the City of Salem but his passion was the Family Century Farm. It is hard to think of Dad without thinking of the farm. His pride in the place shows in the loving care he took of the land and animals.  Dad was known for his grin, his hospitality, and his serious love of sweets. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Catholic Order of Foresters.
