James “Jim” Warren Green
April 12, 1939 – December 19, 2014

Aumsville – James, 75, died on December 19, 2014 in Salem.  He was born in Portland and spent his early years with family in Manila, The Philippines.  Jim was a civilian survivor of the Santo Tomas internment camp during WWII in Manila before U.S. forces rescued them in February 1945. 

He attended the University of Oregon where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree.  Jim also earned a Master of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Western Oregon State College.  He met and married the love of his life, Dolores, while attending the U of O in 1962.  Jim was employed by the State of Oregon for 30 years serving in managerial positions within CSD/DHS.  After retiring from the State of Oregon, he was a Management Training Consultant.

Jim was an avid reader, loved to cook/bake, and enjoyed developing a vast garden with his wife, Dolores. Everyone that met him always found him to be the perfect gentleman. He was an active Eucharistic Minister at St. Mary’s Church in Shaw and served as Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus.

Jim was predeceased by his wife Dolores in 2013.  He is survived by his children:  Marie Brand (Martin) of Gresham and James A. Green (Wendy) of Seattle, WA.and two grandchildren, Kennedy and Brandt of Seattle, WA.

Recitation of Rosary followed by Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am on January 6, 2015 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Shaw.  Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Shaw.  In lieu of flowers or gifts, contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Shaw or to a charity of your choosing.  Serving the family, North Santiam Funeral Service, Stayton.
