“Lisa” Ann Harris passed away in the early morning of
November 10th, 2014 at her brother’s home in Shaw, Oregon
after an 18 month battle with brain cancer. Lisa was
surrounded by close family and was visited by many loved ones
in her final days. She was 39 years old.
was born August 9th, 1975 to John and Mary Lou Peters in
Salem, Oregon. When
she was three years old the family moved to Shaw where her dad
had built a family home.
Lisa grew up on the same property where she spent the
last months of her life.
attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and Regis High School in
Stayton, Oregon where she graduated in 1993.
Lisa attended Western Oregon and Portland State
Universities where in 2000 she earned her Bachelor’s degree.
was married to Toby Harris 1999-2013.
They had two daughters, Savannah Rae and Madison Marty.
Lisa felt her role as a mother was the most important
job of her life and loved her girls more than life itself.
worked for Boise Paper 2003-2013.
While working full-time and raising two daughters, Lisa
made time for sports and hobbies – she enjoyed playing
basketball, participating in races, and coaching her
daughter’s basketball teams. She gave all of herself to
friends, family and work.
was known by friends and family as loyal, fun, and full of
life. Her amazing
laugh and beautiful smile would light up even the darkest
room. Her creative spirit and generous nature gave way to a
magical combination that made her successful at work and at
times in serious situations she would intentionally do
something, whether appropriate or not, to get the group
laughing. One of
Lisa’s favorite things to do was dress up in costume.
It didn’t have to be Halloween; it could be any
occasion, playing cards, having a party, or no occasion at all!

and Madison, father and step-mother John and Pam Peters of
Tillamook, mother and step-father Mary-Lou and Rod Stanton of
Keizer, brother Matt Peters of Shaw, sister and brother-in-law
Mark and Theresa Currey of Eugene, her grandparents Matt and
Vivian Bronec of Aumsville, and Terri Bronec of Salem, and
many cherished cousins, nieces and nephews.
