Emilie “Millie” Lindsey
January 19, 1921 – July 24, 2014

Gates– Millie, 93, died July 24 at home in Gates, surrounded by family after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Fresno, CA, and was raised on the family farm where they grew grapes. Millie lived in San Francisco and Daly City before moving to Gates in 1980. She was a member of the Eagles Lodge.

Millie served as past president of the Hillside Homeowners Association, St. Mary’s Hospital Guild and Daly City Garden Club. She enjoyed gardening, especially her roses, and golfing at Elkhorn Golf Course. Millie also enjoyed entertaining and liked being involved with people. She was known by the community for feeding the ducks. She loved animals, especially her five dogs.

Millie married Kenneth Lindsey on April 27, 2002 in Reno, NV. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth of Gates; sister: Martha Cordeiro of Springfield, MO; nieces: Patricia Esparza of Pasadena, CA, Erica Esparza of Mountain View, CA, Yvonne Cordeiro of Nevada, MO, Mary Lou Cordeiro of Springfield, MO, and Carol Blackstock of Springfield, MO; nephew: Adam Esparza of Pasadena, CA and step-daughter: Belinda Ayers of Stayton.

There will be a viewing at North Santiam Funeral Service in Stayton on Sunday from 3 pm – 6 pm. Funeral services will be Monday, July 28, 2014 at 11:00 am at Gates Community Church of Christ in Gates. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Gates. Contributions may be made to Gates Community Church of Christ in Gates. Serving the family, North Santiam Funeral Service, Stayton.
