Edward J. Spenner
March 6, 1925 – August 31, 2014

Stayton – Ed, 89, died August 31 in Stayton. He was born in Stayton to Conrad and Dorothy Spenner. Ed lived his entire life in the Stayton/Sublimity area. He enjoyed family time, fishing with his friends, going for coffee at A&W and Sunday drives to the coast for lunch at Izzy’s with his good friend Jean. Ed worked at Freres Lumber Company as a mill right before becoming an owner & operator of his own log truck. He drove log truck for many years until retiring in 1988. After retirement he hauled hay and helped local farmers as needed.

Ed married Mary June Wolf on November 8, 1952 in Sublimity, she preceded him in death on April 21, 2002. He is survived by children: Conrad (Jacquie) Spenner of Sublimity, Janice (Loren) Bass of Stayton, Drusilla (Dana) Jennings of Gates, Perry (Dawnette) Spenner of Marion, Judy (Mike) Pelletier of Sublimity, Michele Spenner of Stayton, Clyde Spenner of Stayton and Carla (James) Palmer of Keizer; 15 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Rosco. Ed was preceded in death by his brother, Walter in 2008.

Viewing will be Wednesday, September 3, 2014 from 3-9 pm at North Santiam Funeral Service. Rosary will be Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at 7 pm and Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, September 4 at 11 am both at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Sublimity, where he was a member. Interment in St. Boniface Cemetery, Sublimity. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Dornbecher’s Children’s Hospital. Serving the family, North Santiam Funeral Service, Stayton.
