Mona M. Conley
May 21, 1944 - February 9, 2015

Turner Mona, 70, died Monday, February 9 in Stayton. She was born in Idabel, OK, moving to Oregon in 1951 and living in the Willamette Valley since. Mona worked as a typesetter for many years at newspapers around the valley including Stayton, Sweet Home and Albany.

She married Brunk J. Conley on June 8, 1962 in Albany. Mona was a member of the La Pine Band of Brothers and the Military Order of the Purple Heart. She enjoyed oil painting, crocheting, writing stories, board games, bowling and was a Star Trek fan. Mona was a great listener, gave good advice, and loved hugs. Her family was the most important thing to her. Mona was a huge supporter of Stayton High School Drama Department.

Survivors include her husband: Brunk J. of Turner; children: Brunk W. (Laura) Conley of Stayton, Christy (Gar) Robinson of Turner and Les (Kathy) Conley of Portland; brothers: Charles Upton of Albany and William Upton of Sarasota, FL; sister: Mary Jane Sloan of Marysville, WA; grandchildren: Brunk V., Nick, Jacob, Zac, Lucas, Phil, Jen, Jennifer, Betsy and Caleb; great-grandchildren: Endya, Ryan, Savannah, Cilous and Riley.

Viewing will be on Friday, February 13, 2015 from 9:00 am 2:00 pm at North Santiam Funeral Service, followed by memorial service at 2:00 pm at the Stayton High School Auditorium. Interment will be in Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. Contributions may be made to the Stayton High School Drama Department. Serving the family, North Santiam Funeral Service, Stayton.
